Snapshot Review: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 *Spoiler Free

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,

The excitement and anticipation for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been nothing short of extraordinary. I mean finally a sequel to what is probably one of the best films to hit the horror-comedy genre, with an almost perfect comedic timing not a moment was spared by Akshay Kumar, where we weren’t left gasping for air due to laughter. Considering the reputation of the original the sequel has a lot to live up to. If you haven’t watched the movie yet and are still deciding whether to watch it or not. So, without further ado lets dive in.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is home to some familiar faces and a new one, in the lead. Rajpal Yadav returns to the major cinema scene in India after what feels like a lifetime, having shared many of our funniest childhood moments with Rajpal Yadav it is great to see him back. Next, we have another familiar face Kiara Advani, whom we may recognize from Kabeer Singh where she brilliantly portrayed the role of Preethi. Finally, we have the new comer Kartik Aaryan, all eyes are effectively on him since he replaces one of the kings of comedy Akshay Kumar in a lead role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. This movie is directed by Anees Bazmee, who is known for his hit comedy films some of which are Welcome, Singh is King, No Entry and Pyar to Hona Hi Tha.

The movie revolves around a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) couple, whom upon their visit to India decide to live in their ancestral home, well, soon they realized that it was a terrible idea. The movie bases most of its comedic stints on satire, carefully utilizing the physical element of comedy and using situations to add fuel to the laughter. It further uses quick humor and witty dialogue to fill in where the gaps are. Kartik Aaryan, although can’t really be compared to Akshay Kumar, delivers a performance straight from the heart, Kiara Advani returns the favor with some brilliant acting of her own. Although, there were scenes that could be called hit or a miss, they certainly do not take away from their performance. Rajpal Yadav reprised his role as Chote Pandit once again, which was nothing short of comedic gold, let’s just say he hasn’t lost his touch.

All in all, the movie is almost completely different from its predecessor, so it would be better to leave the nostalgia at home and come with an open mind so that you may appreciate its own flare that Bhool Bhulaiya 2.
