David Beckham to Receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

David Beckham is set to be honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, organizers announced Tuesday, as the United States prepares to host the FIFA World Cup. The ceremony will take place on June 12, just before the first match on U.S. soil, adding a celebratory note to the global supporting event.

Movie legend Tom Cruise and Beckham’s wife, Victoria Beckham, will join him at the unveiling. The plaque will immortalize the 51 year-old former England captain on Hollywood’s most iconic boulevard.

Ana Martinez of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce praised Beckham’s impact, noting that his recognition in the Sports Entertainment category comes at a fitting moment. “Beckham’s role in elevating soccer’s profile in America and his lasting influence on sports, entertainment, and global culture make this honor especially meaningful”, she said.

Beckham’s career spanned legendary clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint – Germain, where he retired in 2013. More recently, he became co-owner of Inter Miami CF, signing Lionel Messi and leading the team to a Major League Soccer Cup Championship.

Beyond the pitch, Beckham has expanded into entertainment, co-founding Studio 99 in 2019. His star also follows his knighthood by King Charles III last year, cementing his legacy as both a football icon and cultural figure.
