Raveena Tandon Calls Out Yellow Journalism’s Impact on Actors

Raveena Tandon spoke candidly about the challenges she faced in the 90s, blaming yellow journalism for harming her career. At the peak of her stardom, she explained that an actor depended on editors, with headlines shaping public perception more than the truth. She added that those not in an editor’s good books struggled to protect their image, and even apologies failed to erase the damage once a headline struck in people’s minds.

On Not Done Yet with Malini Agarwal, Raveena emphasized how social media now gives actors direct access to audiences. She noted that today they can clear the air instantly, unlike in her era when damaging stories lingered and left actors vulnerable.

In earlier interviews, Raveena revealed she was body shamed and personally attacked by the press. She admitted she often wished she could sue the pants off those who spread false stories.

Despite those struggles, Raveena continues to thrive. She recently appeared in Ghudchadi with Sanjay Dutt and will feature in Welcome to the Jungle alongside Akshay Kumar and a star-studded cast. She also has Vishwanath & Sons with Suriya lined up, proving her resilience and longevity in cinema.
