Chidambaram’s psychological thriller Balan: The Boy crossed the ₹ 24 crore mark worldwide, but collections dipped on its ninth day. Scnilk estimates show the film earned ₹84 lakhs net in India on Saturday, a 28.2% drop from the ₹1.17 crore collected on Day 8.
The film played across 864 shows, lifting its India net to ₹13.30 crore and gross to ₹15.41 crore. Overseas markets added ₹8.85 crore, pushing the worldwide total to ₹24.26 crore. Although numbers slowed in India, the film maintained steady momentum internationally.
Occupancy Trends
Day 9 occupancy remained healthy. The Malayalam version recorded 43.99% overall. Morning shows started at 17.58% before climbing to 30.42% in the afternoon. Evening screenings reached 42.42%, while night shows peaked at 58.92%, showing strong audience turnout.
