Director Guy Ritchie’s film starring Jason Statham to start shooting in Doha today

Director Guy Ritchie’s upcoming untitled film is all set to start shooting in Doha today at a yet undisclosed location.

The film reunites Ritchie once again with action-thriller phenomenon Jason Statham, marking their second film together for Miramax following ‘Wrath of Man’, and will also feature Aubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes and rapper Bugzy Malone.

beIN Media Group chairman Nasser al-Khelaifi commented, “Guy and Jason have repeatedly impressed audiences with their collaborations, and we’re looking forward to bringing this production to the city of Doha, Qatar, a growing market in the entertainment and media space.”

The action packed film revolves around MI6 guns-and-steel agent Orson Fortune  played by Statham who is recruited by a global intelligence agency to track down and put an end to the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world peace.

Atkinson will also co-produce along with Bill Block for Miramax, which is fully financing the film.

STX will distribute directly in the US, UK and Ireland and in the rest of the world through its network of international distribution partners.

Guy Ritchie’s last movie ‘The Gentlemen’ with STX films grossed $115mn at box office world wide.
