The Don 3 feud escalated into a courtroom battle, adding fresh drama to the Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar dispute. Veteran producer TP Aggarwal has filed a petition in the Bombay Civil Court, challenging the FWICE directive that called for non-cooperation against Ranveer after his abrupt exit from the project.
Aggarwal, who previously led the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) and the Film Federation of India (FFI), argued that no trade body has the legal authority to impose bans or discourage collaboration. The court has now issued notices to both FWICE and IMPPA. He emphasized that the film industry thrives on collaboration, and attempts to block individuals from working can harm livelihoods and creative freedom.
The dispute began when Farhan Akhtar approached FWICE last month, claiming Ranveer’s departure from Don 3 caused losses of nearly ₹45 crore. Ranveer’s spokesperson responded with a dignified statement, stressing his respect for the fraternity and his choice to remain silent, believing professional matters should be handled with maturity and respect.
Originally announced in 2023 with Ranveer headlining after Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic turn in Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011), the film hit turbulence in late 2025 when Ranveer reportedly walked out following the success of Dhurandhar. Since then, the row has intensified, with legal and industry bodies now drawn into the conflict. As the case unfolds, Ranveer appears to be distancing himself from the noise, recently spotted in Budapest ahead of a major football weekend. Meanwhile, the fate of Don 3 hangs in the balance, with the industry watching closely as the legal proceedings play out.
