Athiradi Wraps Up Run, Ranks 3rd in Basil Joseph’s Global Hits

Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph’s Athiradi is wrapping up its theatrical journey after a solid four week run. Released on May 14, the Malayalam action-comedy has maintained steady collections and now stands as Basil Joseph’s third-highest grossing film worldwide.

The film has earned ₹36.95 crore net in India, translating to ₹43.6 crore gross. Overseas, it added ₹24.65 crore, pushing its worldwide total to ₹68.25 crore. With momentum slowing, Athriadi is expected to conclude its run around ₹68.3 crore.

In Basil Joseph’s global box-office rankings, Athiradi sits below Ajayante Randam Moshanam (₹108.03 crore) and Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil (₹91.37 crore), but ahead of Sookshmadarshini (₹56 crore). Despite the slowdown, the film’s performance remains impressive for its genre and scale.

Made on a ₹30 crore budget, Athiradi has achieved a ₹6.95 crore return on investment, a 23.16% gain. According to analysts, it secures a “plus” verdict, marking another success for Basil Joseph’s growing filmography. With its energetic mix of action and comedy, Athiradi has proven that strong storytelling and star power can deliver consistent box-office results even in a competitive season.
