Freddie Highmore Reunites with David Shore for Crave Drama

Freddie Highmore is teaming up once again with The Good Doctor creator David Shore for a new Crave series titled I’m Not Here to Hurt You. Announced on May 17, the drama is a co-production between Sony Pictures television, blink49 Studios, and Bell Media’s Crave, which already hosts the hit series Heated Rivalry.

Highmore and Shore confirmed their reunion in a joint statement, saying they were thrilled to collaborate again in Canada alongside their partners. The two co-created the series, with Highmore also serving as a non-writing executive producer.

The show follows Highmore as a family man whose life spirals after a bicycle accident leads to a death. He enters a world of crime while clinging to the impossible vow of never hurting anyone again, a premise that blends suspense with moral conflict.

Industry leaders praised the project’s potential. Sony’s Lauren Stein highlighted the duo’s ability to craft layered, relatable characters, while blink49 Studios CEO John Morayniss described the series as emotionally complex with strong international appeal.

Highmore, who closed The Good Doctor two years ago, has since starred in Prime Video’s The Assassin and will appear in Sony’s upcoming film Life on Other Planets. With I’m Not Here to Hurt You, he and Shore aim to deliver another gripping story that resonates with audiences worldwide.
