Veteran sitcom creator Kenya Barris and Eddie Murphy have already collaborated, with Barris having worked on the script for this year’s Coming 2 America. Now they’re adding Jonah Hill to the mix on a new, untitled comedy movie for Netflix.
Barris and Hill wrote the script for the film, which Barris will direct and Murphy will star opposite Hill. The Hollywood Reporter has not tracked down the exact details of the script has heard that it’ll be “an incisive examination of modern love and family dynamics and how clashing cultures, societal expectations and generational differences shape and affect relationships.” Murphy and Hill will apparently find themselves on opposite sides of a divide.
Murphy, who has seen success of late with the Amazon based sequel and Netflix’s Dolemite Is My Name, is looking to keep this career boost going, including developing a new Beverly Hills Cop sequel.
