And while Bollywood is known for taking inspiration from South Indian movies, we also have several South actors foraying into the Hindi film industry.

Over the years, several South actors have managed to carve a niche for themselves in Bollywood including R Madhavan, Kamal Haasan, Shruti Haasan, Prakash Raj etc. And with Bollywood expanding its wings every year and the Indian cinema witnessing more pan India projects, many South actors will be seen winning hearts in Bollywood movies. Nagarjuna Akkineni in Brahmastra

Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra happens to be a fantasy drama that will feature Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in key roles. The movie was expected to release in December last year, however, it was postponed for release due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Vijay Deverakonda in Liger

Vijay has been making a lot of buzz ever since he has been roped in for Puri Jagganadh’s pan India project Liger opposite Ananya Panday. The movie will mark his much awaited debut in Bollywood and the audience can’t wait to witness the charm of South heartthrob in Bollywood. Co-produced by Karan Johar, Liger is slated to release on September 9 this year.

Arvind Swami in Thalaivi

Kangana Ranaut grabbed a lot of attention when she was roped in for AL Vijay’s Thalaivi which happens to be the biopic on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The actress will be essaying the role of the late politician in the movie which will trace her journey including her career in films and politics. Apart from Kangana, Arvind Swami has also been making the headlines for Thalaivi as he will be seen playing the role of MGR who played a key role in Jayalalithaa’s career in the movie. Thalaivi is slated to release on April 23 this year.

Vijay Sethupathi in Mumbaikar

Vijay Sethupathi has teamed up with Santosh Sivan’s upcoming directorial Mumbaikar which will also feature Vikrant Massey, Ranvir Shorey and Sachin Khedekar in key roles. The movie happens to be an action thriller and the makers are planning to release it on May 27.

Priyamani in Maidaan

Priyamani will be seen playing the female lead opposite Ajay Devgn in Amit Ravindernath Sharma’s Maidaan. The movie happens to be a sports drama and is based on the golden years of Indian football. This will be the first time Priyamani will be sharing the screen space with Ajay and it will be interesting to see how their chemistry will fare on the silver screen. Maidaan will be releasing on October 15 this year.

Dhanush in Atrangi Re

Helmed by Aanand L Rai, Dhanush will be seen playing the lead in Sara Ali Khan. The movie will also feature Akshay Kumar in a key role and will be releasing on August 6, 2021. Interestingly, Sara has been giving a glimpse of her off screen chemistry with Dhanush which has got the audience excited to see this new pair on the big screen.
