Zayn Malik sounds off on Grammys again: We need to make sure we are honoring & celebrating creative excellence

Zayn Malik took to Twitter again to clap back at the Grammys as he’s keeping the pressure on and fighting for transparency and inclusion.

A few days back, Zayn Malik had taken to his Twitter page to sound off on the Grammys stating, “Unless you shake hands and send gifts, there’s no nomination considerations.” In another tweet, clarifying his controversial statement, Zayn explained how his tweet, “was not personal or about eligibility but was about the need for inclusion and the lack of transparency of the nomination process and the space that creates and allows favoritism, racism, and networking politics to influence the voting process.”

Today, i.e. March 15, the day Grammys 2021 is currently airing, Malik has clapped back again at the Recording Academy. “.@recordingacad are moving in inches and we need to move in miles. I’m keeping the pressure on & fighting for transparency & inclusion,” the 28-year-old singer stated and added, “We need to make sure we are honoring and celebrating “creative excellence” of ALL. End the secret committees. The tweet has already garnered more than 550k likes and counting.

Interestingly, Zayn’s former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles, who garnered three nominations this year, won his first-ever Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for Watermelon Sugar.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, The Weeknd, who was snubbed from Grammys 2021 nominations, stated, “Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys.”
