Shah Rukh Khan’s Kal Ho Naa Ho co star Jhanak Shukla reveals she is not earning at 25: My retirement has begun

Shah Rukh Khan’s Kal Ho Naa Ho child artiste Jhanak Shukla has revealed recently that she is not earning at the age of 25 and feeling like a retired person.

Jhanak Shukla, who played the role of Gia Kapur in Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zintam Jaya Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan starrer Kal Ho Naa Ho, has recently revealed that she is ‘not earning’ anything at the age of 25. In a recent video shared by Brut India, Jhanak has opened up about her current status as she took a break from acting when she was just 15 years old and now, in her mid-20s’ she is feeling like a retired person.

Talking about the same, Jhanak said: “My retirement has already begun. My parents say that because I don’t work as much. I chill. I make soaps. I roam. I write sometimes. And I’ve done my masters so I’m like, ‘It’s okay.” When asked about why she gave up acting, she said when she was 15 or 16 she thought of taking a break. Because during childhood she had worked a lot and thus, her parents also made her take breaks in between. Jhanak also recalled that she even used to go to school on a regular basis and it was fun but somewhere she missed a small part of her childhood.

She further added during that time her parents were also like, ‘Take a break now.’ So, that’s somewhere I lost the track when it comes to acting.”

Jhanak Shukla, who is an archaeologist now, never imagined her life like this when she was a child.  She loves her life but she said when she was small, she had in her mind that she will be 24 and will be earning a lot. “I’ll be married and settled. I am 25 and not earning anything. But my parents are very supportive,” she said.

Apart from Kal Ho Naa Ho, Jhanak had featured in several TV shows like Karishma Kaa Karishma, Son Pari and Hatim.
