Our favourite childhood movie Harry Potter will soon be coming to TV! According to recent reports via The Hollywood Reporter, a live-action TV series of the iconic books and film franchise is in early development at HBO Max! A source recently spoke to THR and revealed that the idea has been “engaged in multiple conversations with potential writers exploring various ideas.” According to this statement, “broad ideas have been discussed,” for the series.

Even though the source came out and revealed the news about the TV series, HBO and WB are emphasizing that there are no actual deals in place at the time, as the idea is still in the early stages. While no actors are attached to this project at this time, we can only hope to see some old faces in the potential upcoming series. In December 2020, Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in all 8 Harry Potter movies, spoke about the chances of being recast in his beloved role again, and the star was up for it!

“I don’t know. I mean, never say never,” he told ComicBook.com. “I would never say, ‘Absolutely no.’ It was a huge part of my life and I’m very fond of that character and their stories. So yeah, I mean, I’d be up for it at the right time. I don’t know what capacity that would be, but yeah, we’ll see.”
