Active Covid-19 cases in Qatar fall below 2,000 on Dec 21

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 158 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 203 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 139,927.

Out of the 158 new cases, 113 are community cases and 45 from travellers returning from abroad.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 142,159 and there are 1,989 active cases under treatment.

Till now 243 people have died due to the virus.

3,611 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (8,254 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,199,805 tests.

There are 28 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 212.

Two patients was admitted to intensive care in the last 24 hours, and so 24 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

– Adherence to physical distancing
– Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
– Wearing a face mask
– Washing hands regularly
