Euphoria Concludes with Season 3 Finale

HBO has confirmed that Euphoria has officially ended with its season three finale, closing the chapter on Sam Levinson’s acclaimed drama. The announcement came just hours after the final episode aired with Levinson sharing the news on Popcast, The New York Times music podcast.

The finale delivered shocking twists, including multiple character deaths and a heartfelt tribute to Angus Cloud, who passed away in 2023 at the age 25. Fans witnessed the emotional send-off as the series wrapped its storytelling in dramatic fashion.

The show’s conclusion was not entirely unexpected. Zendaya had hinted in interviews that season three might be the last, and the four-year gap between seasons two and three fueled speculation about behind the scenes challenges. Francesca Orsi, HBO’s executive vice president of programming, explained that the delay was necessary to ensure the story advanced in a meaningful  way.

Levinson urged fans to watch episodes seven and eight live to avoid spoilers, teasing “big things” ahead. He later told audiences at the American Cinematheque that season three was “hand down our best season”, promising unforgettable moments.

Those promises proved true. Last week’s episode shocked viewers with the death of Jacob Elordi’s Nate Jacobs, while the finale added two more tragic endings: Martha Kelly’s Laurie and Zendaya’s Rue, whose storyline concluded with a devastating fentanyl twist.

With its bold storytelling and emotional depth, Euphoria leaves behind a legacy as one of HBO’s most talked-about dramas, cementing its place in pop culture history.
