The highly anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, will arrive in theatres a day earlier than planned. Originally slated for a December 6 release, the film will now hit the big screens on December 5, 2024.
During a press meet in Hyderabad, producers Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar, along with the film’s distributors, confirmed the new release date. Yerneni explained that the decision to move the release date up was made to give the film a longer run at the US box office, where it will debut on December 4.
Addressing concerns about December being a ‘dry month’ for Telugu cinema, Yerneni dismissed the notion, pointing to the success of films like Akhanda and Animal, which performed well during the same period. He also emphasized the importance of securing IMAX screens for Pushpa 2 and expressed confidence that the film would set new records at the box office.
About Pushpa 2: The Rule
The film is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, which captivated audiences with its intense action and gripping narrative. Directed by Sukumar, the sequel will see the return of key cast members including Anasuya Bharadwaj, Dhananjaya, Sunil, Rao Ramesh, and Ajay, reprising their roles.
In addition to the return of the original cast, Pushpa 2 will feature a special dance number, much like Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s iconic Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava in the first film. The actor for the new song is yet to be announced.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the film’s music is once again composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while cinematographer Miroslaw Kuba Brozek is back behind the lens. With fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the Pushpa saga, expectations for the film’s release continue to rise.
