As the weather turns pleasant in Qatar, the Purple Island (also known as Jazirat bin Ghanim) is attracting a lot of people.
Even though the COVID protocol in place, a large number of people are visiting the island, which is the only one of its kind in Qatar.
The island spans over 1.67 square kilometers and is famous for mangroves
“The Purple Island is lovely tourist destination. It is rich in natural vegetation, clean environment and easily accessible,” a said a family member, who was visiting the place for the first time.
Purple Island is an island located in the municipality of Al Khor and 40 km away from Doha on the northeast coast of Qatar.
It is easy to reach Purple Island and one does not need big car and one can park the car before the wooden bridge and then can walk from there around 1 km to reach the beach.
According to a tour operator, “We are following a self-imposed Covid protocol and not in position to go for wide campaign now. But, as committed tour operator, we always give guidance and detailed information about the island to those who visits the island as their own.”
