The Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially landed in Bahrain! Fans are buzzing as filming for Avengers: Doomsday, the next installment in the blockbuster Avengers franchise, has reportedly begun in the island nation.
The Russo brothers—Anthony and Joe—are back in the director’s chair, bringing their visionary storytelling to Avengers: Doomsday, which is slated for a global theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
Excitement reached new heights over the weekend when Address Beach Resort Bahrain rolled out the red carpet for a dazzling dinner event, attended by a constellation of Marvel stars. Among the celebrities spotted were:
- Anthony Mackie (Captain America)
- Simu Liu (Shang-Chi)
- Winston Duke (M’Baku)
- Letitia Wright (Shuri)
- Tenoch Huerta (Namor)
- Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost)
- Danny Ramirez (Falcon)
- Alex Livinalli (Attuma)
- Joe Russo (Director)
The luxury resort shared glimpses of the evening on Instagram, proudly stating:
“This past weekend, Address Beach Resort Bahrain had the marvellous honour of hosting some of Hollywood’s most iconic stars.”
Earlier in the week, several cast members were seen dining at Sumosan, a high-end Japanese restaurant within the hotel, adding to the excitement for local fans and media alike.
While many familiar faces attended the event, a few major names from the cast were notably absent, including Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), and Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova).
One of the biggest surprises is the return of Robert Downey Jr., who is confirmed to play Doctor Doom, a pivotal character and supervillain in Avengers: Doomsday.
With plot details under wraps, Marvel fans can only speculate what’s in store. However, the return of the Russo brothers—who previously helmed Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame—has heightened anticipation for what promises to be another cinematic milestone. They’re also set to direct Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for release in December 2027.
Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, Joe Russo teased:
“We thought Endgame would be the end for us, but this story is just too special. It’s the biggest Marvel comic story ever told.”
