Shah Rukh Khan & Rani Mukerji Reunite After 19 Years in ‘King’ with Suhana Khan

Some iconic Bollywood chemistry is making a grand return! After 19 long years, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji are reuniting on the big screen for the upcoming action-thriller King, which also stars Suhana Khan in a key role. And yes — it finally looks like this film has found its queen!

For months, speculation swirled around who would be cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan in King, especially with his daughter Suhana making her feature film debut. While fans already knew about the father-daughter duo coming together for the first time on screen, mystery surrounded the identity of SRK’s leading lady. That mystery now appears solved.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, the ever-graceful Rani Mukerji will be sharing screen space with SRK once again, making it their first full-fledged pairing since Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna in 2006. Rani, who was last seen in the 2023 film Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, is making a powerful comeback — and not just in a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo.

Rani is reportedly set to play the mother of Suhana Khan’s character. Far from being a supporting footnote, her role is described as “the heart of the film,” acting as an emotional anchor in what is otherwise a high-octane action thriller. Insiders claim Rani agreed to the part almost immediately after hearing it, a testament to the weight and depth of the character.

SRK and Rani have previously shared unforgettable screen moments in beloved hits like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Their reunion, set in the intense backdrop of King, promises a unique blend of nostalgia and fresh storytelling.

The film is being directed by Siddharth Anand and produced under a massive banner. The cast is nothing short of star-studded — featuring names like Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma. Filming officially begins on May 20, kicking off with a schedule in India before moving to a grand European shoot.

🎬 As of now, King is eyeing a late 2026 release, and expectations are sky-high.

With a blend of legacy, talent, and family ties, King might just be one of Bollywood’s most emotionally resonant action films in years.
