Slated to take place on March 18 and 19, the International Indian Film Academy Awards, Abu Dhabi is playing host for the first time.
One of the major showbiz industries in the world—Bollywood, is all geared up for its next big event full of entertainment –the IFFA Awards 2022 that is making its’ come back to the UAE.
Slated to take place on March 18 and 19, the International Indian Film Academy Awards, Abu Dhabi is playing host for the first time in March and is going to take place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
The event which is going to see the who’s who of Bollywood, the IIFA Weekend & Awards will feature performances by some of the biggest Indian stars across two days.
With many of the top films and actors to be honoured, the gala awards night is going to be hosted by Bollywood star Salman Khan.
“I have always enjoyed being a part of the IIFA family and travelling to some great destinations, but this year I am super happy that we are headed to one of my personal favourites, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi,” Salman Khan told.
Sharing his excitement, he also posted a video on Instagram and wrote, “t’s back @iifa and I’m so happy to be coming back with them especially to a place I love @yasisland @VisitAbuDhabi #cantwait #IIFA20.”
Following a two-year break, the much-anticipated IIFA Awards promises concerts, fashion shows and film promotional junkets, followed by a spectacular gala awards night which is expected to witness the presence of some of the biggest stars.
The last IIFA Awards took place pre-pandemic in 2019 which was hosted by actor brothers Ayushmann and Aparshakti Khurrana, and featured performances by Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Sara Ali Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Salman Khan among others.
