Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and Pakistani cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar had a chance encounter at the opening ceremony of the International League T20 (ILT20) in the UAE, joined by Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh.
Shoaib shared a heartwarming video on Instagram, capturing the friendly interaction between him and Shahid, who looked stylish in an all-black outfit. In the clip, the actor acknowledges Harbhajan with a gesture of friendship before bidding farewell to Shoaib. Shoaib described the encounter as a “lovely” coincidence in his caption.
During the event, Shahid performed with the cast of his upcoming film Deva. The actor showcased his moves to the songs “Marji Chaa Maalik” and “Aala Re Aala Deva Aala,” followed by a fun performance with actress Pooja Hegde on the viral “Bhasad Macha” hook step.
Meanwhile, Shoaib, known as the Rawalpindi Express, continues his role as an ambassador for ILT20 after joining in its second season. He remains one of the most feared fast bowlers in cricket history with 444 wickets across all formats. Shoaib is also part of the commentary team alongside Harbhajan Singh.
On the film front, Shahid’s eagerly awaited movie Deva is set to release on January 31, 2025. Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews, the film features Shahid as a rebellious police officer entangled in a web of deceit and high-stakes action. The movie’s first track, Bhasad Macha, is already making waves on social media.
This marks Shahid’s return to the big screen after nearly a year, following his previous project Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, where he starred alongside Kriti Sanon.
