Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput is being fondly remembered by everyone as his film Kai Po Che completes 8 years of its release today. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the film also starred Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh in the lead roles. To celebrate the milestone, the Stree star took a walk down the memory lane and recalled the old memories that he had with the late actor. In his post, Rajkummar mentioned that 2013’s release allowed the actor in him to grow and has made him more empathetic.
Taking to his Instagram story, the Bareilly Ki Barfi star shared the poster of the film featuring him, Sushant, and Amit. While remembering the Chhichhore star, Rajkummar also penned a heartwarming note for him and said he feels as if it was yesterday when they all were shooting for the film. Sharing the poster, he wrote, “A film that allowed the actor in me to grow, to be more empathetic, celebrating the 8 years of Kai Po Che. As if it was yesterday when Sushant, Amit and I were shooting for the film. On a related note, Abhishek Kapoor also shared the video of the hit track Manjha from the movie and wrote, “The thrill of starting this journey with a new team hungry 2 give their best at the dawn of their careers stands most vividly in mind..One cant quantify the love our film continues to receive over the years, neither can we quantify the pain we feel at the loss of our crown jewel.”
Set in Gujarat, Kai Po Che! depicted the story of three friends — played by Rajput, Rao, and Sadh — as they navigate their way through the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, the Godhra train burning in 2002 and the subsequent riots. The film marked Sushant’s Bollywood debut.
