Since its release on July 9, Hanumankind and Kalmi’s “Big Dawgs” has experienced a remarkable rise. A month later, the track, which has captivated audiences globally partly due to its music video directed by Bijoy Shetty, has climbed ahead of Kendrick Lamar’s hit “Not Like Us” on Spotify’s Top 50 – Global chart.
According to Instagram’s Rap page, “Big Dawgs” was at number 10 as of August 8, but has since moved to 11th place, still ahead of Lamar’s renowned Drake diss. It’s expected that “Not Like Us” might lose some momentum three months post-release, especially with its music video debuting last month. The track also outpaces Eminem’s “Houdini.”
Released through Mass Appeal India, “Big Dawgs” has amassed over 37 million streams on Spotify and made a strong debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 57, marking the first entry for both Hanumankind and Kalmi.
The song also holds the 43rd spot on YouTube’s Top 100 Music Videos Global chart with over 35 million views and leads the all-genres Apple Music chart in India. Additionally, it ranks 19th on Apple Music’s Top 100 Global playlist.
In the U.S., “Big Dawgs” has garnered significant attention on social media, with over 111 million views on TikTok and nearly 700,000 Shazam searches.
Hanumankind has recently signed with Capitol Records and is set to perform at the Ziro Festival of Music in Arunachal Pradesh from September 26 to 29, 2024.
