‘Iron Man’ star Robert Downey Jr RETURNS to Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom

The wait for Robert Downey Jr’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to end. The actor is confirmed to return, but not in his iconic role as Iron Man, rather, he will take on a new role, this time as the infamous Doctor Doom.

The actor will reportedly trade in his Iron-Man suit for a green cape and metal mask as he takes on the role of the villan Victor Von Doom in the Russo Brothers’ ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

This unexpected casting news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world and has fans at Hall H in Comic-Con, screaming at the epic reveal. The Russo brothers called on an actor onstage dressed as Doctor Doom, complete with a steel mask, green cape, and hood.
To the audience’s astonishment, the actor unmasked himself to reveal none other than Robert.

The Russo brothers, who will be directing the movie featuring Downey, said his appearance in the film is “proof of the unimaginable possibilities in the Marvel multi-universe.” Downey’s return to the MCU comes after his emotional farewell as Tony Stark in ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Kevin Feige used Saturday’s panel to chart the course ahead for the MCU, revealing Ford’s character in the next “Captain America” film and revealing “Avengers: Secret Wars and “Avengers: Doomsday” as the titles of the next two films in the epic superhero team-up series.

They called “Secret Wars” the “biggest story that M Comics ever told,” and Joe said it was the first comic run he read as a child that made him “fall in love will comics.”

Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s most complex and formidable villains, is the archenemy of the Fantastic Known for his genius intellect, mastery of both science and sorcery, and ruthless ambition, he poses a significant threat to the superhero team.

During a recent event, the Russo Brothers highlighted the necessity of finding the right actor to propel the next phase of the Avengers forward.
Doom was rumored to be tie main villain in the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot, directed by Matt Shakman. However, it was announced on Friday that Galactus would be the antagonist going up against Pedro Pascal and the team in 2025.
