According to Indian media, seventeen Indians who arrived in Doha on Thursday on tourist visas were denied entry and sent back after failing to meet all of the requirements to be eligible for on-arrival tourist visas.
The 17 passengers, who landed from Kozhikode on an Air India Express flight about noon, failed to provide QR5,000 in cash or a credit or debit card with the appropriate balance, both of which are required for Indians seeking on-arrival tourist visas.
According to a source, the passengers were sent back late at night after spending roughly 10 hours at Doha airport.
Voice messages from some of the airport passengers went popular on Indian social media in Qatar yesterday, with many people questioning how so many people could fly into Doha without knowing the restrictions.
